Las Vegas — A new survey of Nevada voters commissioned by the Democracy Defense Foundation Nevada, previously referred to as Democracy Defense Project Nevada, finds growing confidence in the state’s election system, alongside rising concern about federal pressure on Nevada’s election officials.
The survey, conducted by The Tarrance Group, surveyed 600 likely voters, and found that confidence in the accuracy of Nevada’s 2024 vote count rose to 37% “very confident” in June 2026, up from 31% a year earlier. A majority, 57%, said Nevada ran its 2024 election about as well as 2020, and 59% of voters said election workers are important volunteers who count votes fairly, up from 53% in September 2024.
“Nevadans trust the people who run our elections, and the numbers back that up,” said former Speaker of the Assembly Richard Perkins, co-chair of DDF Nevada. “Every time someone in Washington tries to score points by attacking our election workers, Nevada voters see through it. Confidence keeps going up, not down, because our system works.”
“This poll also shows we have work to do, and that’s exactly why DDF exists,” said former Gov. Brian Sandoval, co-chair of DDF Nevada. “Some Nevadans still have real concerns about how our elections are run. Our job is to meet those concerns with facts, not dismiss them. Voters support common-sense steps like statewide drop box standards, and they support them because they trust the process behind them. That trust depends on decisions being made with real evidence, not political pressure.”
The poll also found 62% of Nevada voters are concerned about federal pressure on Nevada election officials. Support for a statewide standard on ballot drop box rules stood at 79%, down slightly from 82% a year ago but still a clear majority across parties, including 85% of Republicans and 68% of Democrats.
“The data tells a clear story,” Perkins said. “Nevada voters want their elections secure and they want them free from outside interference. Those two things go together.”
